WELCOME CHRIS MALICOAT ... FINE ART PAINTER of Modern Realism Chris Malicoat likes to describe himself as a painter of emotion. His hands create the medium that brings out the emotions in his audience. It is not just the paint and canvas ..... it is the soul of the artist connecting with that of the viewer. It is of course the painting of light. It is the luminosity as well as the intensity of color. It is the creation of the image, but it is truly the communication of an emotion, as the artist is allowed to communicate to the viewer his inner feelings at the time the painting was born. Chris works in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, but also has a personal passion for the use of colored pencils. His colored pencil works have been honored in shows throughout the country including the receiving of the President's award at the Salmagundi Club (Fifth ave. New York, NY) in the 73rd annual American Artists' Professional League .. Grand National Exhibition in Nov. 2001. His works for year 2002 produced two best of shows, five first places and one second place from seven shows. The 2003 season has just begun. Look for his work in the gallery at the Colored Pencil Society of America International Exhibition.
