about The Artist
Chris Malicoat works from a beautiful studio in Yosemite Lakes Park (a few miles from the south entrance of Yosemite National Park) in the Sierra foothills of Coarsegold, CA. The views from his studio windows and deck are a constant inspiration. The beauty of the rolling hills, dotted with oak and pine trees, surrounds a lake rich with wildlife. It is a joy to watch the hawks and eagles flying overhead during the day and the deer grazing on the green grass of the golf course in the evening.
Chris was prepared for his life as an artist within the Architecture department at CalPoly University and the Design and Art depts. at California State University, Fresno. His advanced studies and teaching credential are from CSUF. Much of Chris' thirty plus years as an artist have been spent in the commercial world. His company logo designs are seen across the country and he is considered by his professional peers to be a master in the use of color. He has been chosen twice in five years as a seminar presenter at the International Letterheads annual convention, teaching design in 1996 and color theory in 2000. He has taught many regional and local seminars as well and occasionally teaches private painting classes in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and colored pencil.
